The Power of the Spoken Word

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that when we speak, we are either speaking life or death into our lives. That is why it is so important to speak words that edify and uplift ourselves, those around us, and our situations. James 3:10 says "Out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things should not be this way." God has never put a negative word or thought in us. The devil will try to make us meditate on things that bring us down. If we choose to speak those things into existence, we give the devil a foothold in our lives to steal our joy, faith, and purpose. The Holy Spirit gives us the authority to "trample on snakes and scorpians and over all the power of the enemy" Luke 10:19. When the devil tries to attack us, we have the power, through The Holy Spirit, to put the attack under our feet! Here are some decrees, promises from God that you can use to speak life this week:

I decree in Jesus' name that I am blessed with the favor of the Lord.

His favor is a shield and protection around me.

I am favored in everything I put my hands to and everywhere I go.

I am constantly filled with goodness, because the favor of the Lord blesses me.

Read Psalm 5:12, Proverbs 3:4, 8:35
